1. Your Go-To Rep

The Problem with Abuja-Centred Representation

Too often, the Nigerian federal representative disappears into Abuja upon election, surfacing only during campaign season. The constituency becomes a source of votes, not a community to be served. This is the representation gap that OGHALEISOKO2027 seeks to permanently close.

My first and foundational commitment is organic, accessible representation. I describe it simply as being ‘Your Go-To Rep’; a practical, responsive legislator who does not require an appointment or a connection to reach.

The TownHall Commitment: Meeting the People Twice a Year

Representation must be practical, accessible and measurable, which is why I commit to maintaining transparent constituency engagement, regular public accountability briefings, and an open office structure that listens attentively and acts decisively.

At the heart of accessible representation is a formal commitment to two (2) TownHall Meetings annually, held within the constituency; not in hotel conference rooms in Asaba or Abuja, but in Isoko itself. These meetings will serve multiple functions:

  • Accountability reporting: What has been done in Abuja on behalf of Isoko?
  • Community listening: What are the emerging needs, complaints, and ideas of the people?
  • Legislative feedback: How can constituents shape the priorities of their representative?
  • Youth engagement: Creating platforms for the next generation of Isoko leaders.

‘Isoko is a rural-urban constituency,’ as I have always observed. ‘We must talk where we are.’ This is not merely a logistical observation, it is a philosophical commitment to meeting our people in their context, their language, and their reality.

The Power of Organic Representation

My background in community development, educational outreach, grassroots sports, and real estate has given me something rare in Nigerian politics: a network built on genuine relationships rather than transactional patronage. I have been present at almost every ceremony, the funerals, the community footballs, educational events, and the church thanksgivings of Isoko life. I am already the go-to person for many, and I intend to formalize that role into democratic service.
